Well it is official, Olive is a Daddy's girl. How do I know this? Because yesterday while we were at Babies R US, Olive saw something AMAZING. She saw a pink hat. I guess it had her name written all over it. They were on the top shelf, conveniently labeled "Half Off", and Olive got on her tippy toes and tried so hard to reach them. (She was way off) Guess who got one down for her, her Daddy. Umm hmm. Now I am NOT one to buy something for Olive just because she has a liking for it and I thought my husband had the same mindset. I guess not. He let her wear it all around the store. I was trying to plan a "ditch and run" something Devin and I use to do when she was younger. Basically, you take the toy (or hat) while she is not looking, put it back on the shelf and act like nothing happened. It has been a way that I avoid drama, as my daughter is the prime example of a drama princess. But to my surprise Devin wanted nothing to do with my planned "ditch and run". He was going to buy it for her! Gasp. Never before have I seen Devin give in to Olive, but boy was she doing a good job at being cute. It worked. He bought it. If it wasn't half off I would have put my foot down but the child hardly gets new toys so I thought a nice hat would be great. Shield her head from the sun on our walks and well, she just looks so darn cute.
But now she won't take it off. She wears it all day. Takes it off, puts it back on, takes it off again.
She is pretty adorable. I guess it was a good reason to give in.
